Na de mooie single ‘Forget me’ heeft Lewis Capaldi (Lewis Marc Capaldi, Whitburn {West Lothian}, 7 oktober 1996) is een Schotse singer-songwriter. een nieuwe single gelanceerd. Dit keer een romantische popballad: ‘Pointless’. Aan het nummer schreef behalve Capaldi, ook Steve Mac, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid én Ed Sheeran mee. De Schotse zanger legt uit hoe ‘Pointless’ tot stand kwam: “Johnny and Steve said: ‘We’ve got this verse that Ed did if you want to try and have a crack at writing the chorus.’ They were kind of struggling. I heard it and I was like, it’s fucking great, tweaked it a little bit, put my stamp on it then wrote the chorus and middle-eight and Bob’s your uncle you’ve got a tune.” De nieuwe single staat op Capaldi’s aankomende tweede album ‘Broken by Desire to be heavenly sent’. Deze verschijnt op 9 mei 2023. ‘Pointless’ is deze week uitgeroepen tot de nieuwe LOKSCHIJF!
